The CNC program offered by the Uniquely Abled Academy specifically serves young adults with autism.
Participants will learn how to program, set up, and operator Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines.
Participants will also learn how to use quality control instruments, safety and metrology, shop mathematics, blueprint reading, and how to operate mill and lathe machines. The program is 12-16 weeks depending on location and includes 300 hours of in-class instruction and 60 hours of job-readiness instruction.
There is a shortage of CNC operators and there are many job opportunities available upon completion. HAAPE is sponsoring 4 programs at Broward College, Palm Beach State, AMSkills in Tampa, and the Philadelphia Community College / AJ Drexel Institute.
In addition, there are numerous Uniquely Abled Academies at College throughout the Country. Visit the Uniquely Abled Project Academies Page to find the one closest to you.
The CNC Operator safely and efficiently loads raw materials and sets up accessories.
